COVID-19: Vaccine and Variant Update
Watch the full episode

COVID-19 isn't finished with us just yet. Despite a springtime vaccination boom that allowed for broad relaxation of masking and social distancing guidelines, the United States finds itself at an inflection point once again. The newly ascendent Delta variant has brought a spike in cases and hospitalizations, particularly in areas of the country where lingering vaccine hesitancy has slowed inoculation rates. As a result, stronger policies from businesses, schools, and/or the government could be just around the corner this fall as states try to stave off another devastating wave.

Back by popular demand, this special bonus episode of our COVID-19 webinar series will welcome Dr. Jennifer Nuzzo, Senior Scholar at the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security and an Associate Professor at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, to cover the latest on vaccines and variants, plus examine what we know so far about breakthrough infections and the ongoing effort to bolster vaccines to keep pace with new mutations. We welcome viewers to send questions in advance or live during the session.

This free public webinar is a collaboration of the Colorado School of Public Health, the Denver Museum of Nature & Science, and the Institute for Science & Policy. The episode will also be livestreamed on Facebook and YouTube. A full archive of the COVID-19 webinar series may be found here.
